Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter in a welcoming elementary school environment. This role offers the chance to make a daily impact during the 2026-2027 school year, directly supporting students' access to education. Working Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 2:30pm, you'll enjoy a consistent routine while engaging with staff and students in a collaborative, inclusive setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or RID certification (either credential qualifies) Ability to communicate clearly in American Sign Language and interpret in educational settings
Professionalism:
consistently prepared to begin each day before student arrival Experience in K-12 environments is preferred, though passionate newcomers with proper certification are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive onsite sign language interpreting services for students and school staff Facilitate understanding during classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school activities at Troutman Elementary Arrive at the assignment location prior to students each morning, ensuring readiness and reliability Support students' full participation in learning and social environments Collaborate with educators and support staff to optimize communication accessibility
