Spanish Interpreter

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spanish Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between Spanish-speaking clients and healthcare, social service, or legal professionals. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, interpretation techniques, and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA. The ideal candidate will be bilingual with excellent communication skills and experience in medical or social work settings. The interpreter will play a vital role in ensuring clients receive appropriate services while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Provide accurate interpretation between Spanish-speaking clients and professionals in medical, social service, or legal environments. Translate documents, medical records, and other relevant materials as needed. Assist with interpretation for child protective services, hospital visits, or social work meetings. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy and confidentiality. Support communication involving complex medical terminology and documentation review. Facilitate interpretation for diverse situations including hospital procedures, social work assessments, and documentation explanations. Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions and translated documents for compliance purposes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery. Experience Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required; knowledge of American Sign Language is a plus. Proven experience in interpretation within healthcare, social services, or legal settings preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical records documentation review is highly desirable. Experience working with child protective services or hospital environments is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret complex information clearly and accurately. Previous work in social work or related fields will be considered an asset. Certification in interpretation or translation is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
