Nuance Languages is seeking professional interpreters with proven experience. Accompany patients to doctor visits, help them fill out forms and act as the interpreter between doctor and patient. Assignments take place all over New York City, Long Island and Westchester and Putnam counties. The interpreter is responsible for their own transportation. Interpreter must be bilingual in English and at least one other language: SPANISH, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Fuzhou, Farsi, Bengali, Haitian Creole, Hmong, Karen, Pashto, Punjabi, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese... The interpreter must : Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol Provide clear and accurate renditions with no additions or omissions Employ good customer service and clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice as well as polite forms of expression Follow client's instructions, manage the flow of the communication and avoid taking over the communication, as well as avoid interaction with the Limited English proficiency speaker without client's permission Understand protocol and terminology in the healthcare industry Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the assignment at all times Have access to the Internet or work related electronic communication Provide clarification and cultural brokering using excellent judgment and skill Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment' '
