What You'll Do:
Provide interpretive services for students with hearing or communication disabilities. Act as a communication link between students, staff, and others. Promote effective use of interpretive services, including consumer training if needed. Translate teaching/testing materials and recommend alternative approaches to support learning. Collaborate with staff to identify effective student intervention strategies. Support developmentally appropriate behavioral expectations and inclusive educational environments. Assist students with access to activities, assistive technology, and instructional resources.
What You'll Bring:
Valid Ohio State Board of Education license/permit. Fluency in spoken/written English and American Sign Language (or other approved visual communication modes). Knowledge of multiple communication styles (e.g., total communication, gestures). High-performance standards (engagement, proficiency, resilience). Effective interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, and self-direction. Satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal records check results (provided for free by MCESC!).
