Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Experience supporting deaf or hard-of-hearing students, preferably at the kindergarten level and in self-contained classrooms Relevant certifications or credentials for school-based interpreting (state or national preferred) Strong ability to foster connections with students and educational teams
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a profoundly deaf kindergarten student in a self-contained classroom Support student comprehension and communication in all academic and social settings Collaborate with teachers and staff to support full inclusion and participation Maintain confidentiality and advocate for the student's needs within the school setting
