Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing vital communication access as an American Sign Language Interpreter in a high school setting. This contract-to-hire opportunity places you in a supportive educational environment where your skills help bridge the gap for one dedicated student each day.
Qualifications:
Hold current Oklahoma Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) certification Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification required Completed Training and Assessment Systems for K-12 Educational Interpreters (TASK 12) Experience with sign language interpretation in educational settings preferred Strong understanding of Deaf culture and interpreting best practices Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for one high school student on a daily basis Foster an inclusive and accessible learning experience Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective accommodation Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions Adjust approach as needed to meet individual student needs and educational goals Maintain accurate records of interpreting services rendered This role is full time, with 33.75 hours per week across a standard 5-day school schedule, ensuring you have evenings and weekends to yourself.
