Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential support to a high school student for the full 202627 school year! Located conveniently near Dover, this contract role offers the chance to work onsite two days a week, supporting the student in their day-to-day academic schedule. The primary responsibility will be working 1:1 within a mainstream classroom setting, helping foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment. The school prefers coverage on Mondays and Fridays but is open to discussing alternative scheduling options that best suit the right candidate.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (must be current and verifiable). Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally in educational settings. Must meet PA onboarding requirements within one year of starting. Strong communication skills and commitment to student-centered support. Ability to collaborate with educators and adapt to different classroom needs. Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for facilitating student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 interpretation for a high school student during regular academic programming. Accurately interpret a variety of classroom lectures, assignments, and activities. Support student comprehension and participation in all scheduled classes. Serve as a liaison between the student, teachers, and peers to support inclusion. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times. This position offers the flexibility of a part-time schedule with steady hours throughout the academic year.
