  • 7/5/2026 Key Responsibilities The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR), a Division of the Department of Workforce Services (DWS), is seeking a motivated and highly skilled ASL/English Interpreter to join the Utah Interpreter Program in Taylorsville, Utah at the Division of Services of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) office.
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: Interprets between ASL and Spoken English users Maintains calendars; schedules and coordinates appointments Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training Develops and presents consumer awareness information and education material to consumers and other special interest groups Attends training and meetings as required Administers/conducts tests or examinations and/or evaluates results Mentors emerging, newly certified, and advanced level interpreters Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Utah Professional Level Certification or a certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf A flexible approach to interpreting, teaming, and scheduling Intimate knowledge of Deaf culture, the RID-NAD Code of Professional Conduct, and Utah laws related to the provision of interpreting services Outstanding communication and problem solving skills Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Experience working with Deaf interpreters Experience presenting training, workshops, and mentoring Familiarity with tactile and/or ProTactile interpreting About the Role Location
