Haitian Creole Interpreter (Remote & On-Site Contract Opportunities Haitian Creole Language Alliance Fresno, CA Job Details Contract | Freelance $18 - $35 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Confidential information handling Active listening Court Interpreter Certification Haitian Creole Medical interpretation Interpretation experience within healthcare industry Full Job Description Haitian Creole Language Alliance is seeking Haitian Creole interpreters to provide language interpretation services in Haitian Creole and English. This role may include remote interpretation (phone or video) as well as occasional on-site assignments depending on client needs and location. Assignments are offered based on interpreter availability and client demand. Responsibilities Provide accurate interpretation between Haitian Creole and English Support communication in medical, legal, educational, and community settings Interpret in real time via phone, video, or in-person when required Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Follow interpretation guidelines and client protocols Ensure clear and culturally appropriate communication Requirements Fluency in Haitian Creole and English (spoken proficiency required) Strong communication and listening skills Ability to interpret in real time Reliable internet connection (for remote work) Ability to travel locally for on-site assignments if needed (preferred, not required) Professional and neutral communication style Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Prior interpretation experience Experience in healthcare, legal, or community services Interpretation certification (medical or court interpreting) Familiarity with interpretation platforms or call systems Work Schedule Flexible contract-based scheduling Remote and/or on-site assignments depending on demand Availability may include daytime, evening, or weekend assignments Work Environment Remote work is available. Some assignments may require travel within the interpreter's local area depending on client requests. A quiet, professional environment and reliable equipment are required for remote work.
