Responsibilities Provide accurate, real-time interpretation between speakers of different languages during in-person interactions across multiple settings Facilitate effective communication by translating spoken language while maintaining the original tone and intent Assist clients and service providers by explaining procedures, instructions, or complex information clearly and thoroughly Support individuals with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation needs, ensuring effective visual communication for deaf or hard-of-hearing clients Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, adhering to ethical standards and privacy regulations Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service delivery and address any interpretation challenges promptly Keep detailed records of interpretation sessions as required for documentation and quality assurance purposes Qualifications Multilingual proficiency with fluency in at least two languages; additional language skills are highly valued Demonstrated experience in translation or interpretation, preferably in professional or community settings Certification or demonstrated competence in American Sign Language (ASL) is a strong plus Strong communication skills with the ability to convey messages accurately and empathetically Bilingual individuals with a solid understanding of linguistic nuances are encouraged to apply Knowledge of linguistics principles and cultural sensitivities to ensure respectful and effective interpretation Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse environments and client needs This paid role is perfect for motivated interpreters eager to make a difference through meaningful communication.
