Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Mandarin and Cantonese Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication across diverse settings. Duties Provide real-time interpretation between Mandarin, Cantonese, and English during meetings, conferences, medical appointments, legal proceedings, or community events. Facilitate smooth communication by translating spoken language accurately and promptly while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Assist with written translation tasks such as documents, reports, or correspondence when needed. Support communication efforts involving American Sign Language (ASL) if applicable, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Collaborate with clients, professionals, and community members to understand specific interpretation needs and adapt accordingly. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times while managing multiple assignments efficiently. Contribute to the development of multilingual resources or training materials to enhance language accessibility. Qualifications Proven experience as a Mandarin and Cantonese interpreter with strong interpretation skills in various settings. Multilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and English; additional languages are a plus. Demonstrated ability to interpret accurately in high-pressure environments with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of linguistics principles and translation techniques to ensure precise message conveyance. Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
