Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in Telehealth services within an educational setting. This role requires delivering clear, effective communication support to students and staff, ensuring accessibility during virtual learning sessions and related educational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate accurate and fluent sign language interpretation during telehealth sessions for students. Collaborate with educators and healthcare providers to support communication needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards throughout interpreting assignments. Adapt interpretation styles to meet the needs of diverse learners in a virtual environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with telehealth interpreting experience preferred. Familiarity with educational settings and the unique communication challenges they present. Ability to work independently under a 1099 contract arrangement. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to facilitating inclusive communication.
