Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter - Telehealth Job Type Contract A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide telehealth services for a kindergarten student with limited ASL fluency. This role involves supporting communication in an educational setting through virtual platforms, emphasizing collaboration with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) specialists to tailor interpretation approaches to the student's unique needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering accurate and effective sign language interpretation via telehealth. Supporting the student's communication development, adapting methods as needed given limited ASL fluency. Coordinating closely with DHH professionals to ensure seamless educational support. Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism adhering to educational and ethical standards.
Qualifications sought:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting for children, especially those with limited ASL skills. Previous telehealth interpretation experience preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and DHH staff. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
