Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable Virtual Speech-Language Interpreter to support students and educational teams throughout Alaska. This fully remote position offers an opportunity to help ensure effective communication and equal access to educational services for students in a virtual learning environment. The ideal candidate is experienced in educational interpretation, possesses strong communication skills, and is comfortable working collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities Provide real-time virtual interpretation services for students, families, and school staff Facilitate effective communication during instructional sessions, evaluations, meetings, and school-related activities Support students in accessing educational content and services Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and administrators to promote student success Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with school, state, and federal guidelines Document services and maintain accurate records as required Utilize virtual platforms and technology to deliver high-quality interpretation services Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed Qualifications Bachelor's level degree in ASL or Education interpreting EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and written test Interpreter certification, licensure, or relevant credentials Previous experience providing interpretation services in educational settings preferred Experience working in virtual or telepractice environments preferred Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with educational teams Knowledge of educational terminology and school-based environments preferred Reliable internet connection and dedicated home workspace required Preferred Experience K-12 school-based interpretation experience Virtual interpretation or remote service delivery Experience supporting special education programs and multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with online communication platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet Why Join Us?
