Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Telecommunications Operator provides efficient and courteous handling of telecommunications services in the hospital, including answering calls, maintaining and operating switchboard equipment, and dispensing patient information. Provides paging/beeper services and serves as back-up for Info Desk Receptionist.Duties & Responsibilities:
Handles calls received through main line console. Alerts appropriate personnel and departments in an emergency situation. Ensures that telephone switchboard equipment functions properly. Makes announcements and pages using paging/beeper systems. Printed on 3/28/2023 1:13:26 PM Provides telecommunication support services to hospital departments. Provides backup for Info Desk Receptionist. Preserves and protects patient and employee rights to confidentiality. Performs other telecommunication services as requested.Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent. Experience working with telephone switchboard equipment desirable. Must possess a good memory, a clear, well-modulated voice, strong interpersonal skills and be fluent in the English language.
