Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Bring your expertise and passion for communication to an engaging educational environment, supporting a middle school student as a Sign Language Interpreter. This long-term, contract opportunity is full time and based at a welcoming school community near Irmo, SC. If you're an interpreter with a minimum EIPA score of 3.5—or ready and willing to retest to meet that qualification—here's a fantastic chance to make a meaningful difference each day.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience in an educational setting EIPA score of 3.5 or higher; candidates with a lower score who are committed to retesting are welcome to apply Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity working with students Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear, accurate communication between the student and school community Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, and school activities as needed Support the student's access to curriculum and participation in school life Adapt interpretation to various educational and extracurricular contexts Maintain adherence to ethical standards and best practices for educational interpreting
