Key Qualifications:

Current South Carolina Sign Language Interpreter (SC SLI) certification is required Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is highly preferred Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to interpret in both individual and group learning environments Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and students Committed to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student privacy Reliable and dedicated to onsite presence throughout the contract period

Responsibilities:

Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, activities, and school events Support communication between students, teachers, and peers to facilitate full participation Adapt interpreting style to meet student needs and educational goals Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth integration of interpreted services Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school protocols Foster an inclusive learning environment and advocate for student accessibility
