Qualifications:

Current and valid SC SLI (South Carolina Sign Language Interpreter) license or certification. Previous experience interpreting in educational or K-12 settings preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately and confidentially. Dependable, flexible, and able to adjust to varied classroom environments. Commitment to working onsite throughout the full assignment.

Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa for students, teachers, and staff during the school day. Support students' participation in classroom activities, discussions, and school events. Collaborate effectively with educators and other professionals to ensure student needs are being met. Maintain student confidentiality and display professionalism at all times. Serve as a resource for staff regarding communication strategies and Deaf culture awareness.
