Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into an essential role supporting students by providing expert sign language interpreting services in a vibrant educational setting. This contract opportunity is perfect for professionals passionate about inclusivity and communication. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you'll work full-time on-site, collaborating with school staff to ensure students' language accessibility and a rewarding school experience. The assignment will span the academic school year, from August 11, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with placements across campuses and age groups to be determined.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Successful completion of the required written examination Previous experience interpreting in educational or school environments is highly valued Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with a variety of communication modalities Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities Include:
Providing real-time sign language interpretation for students and staff in classroom and school activities Ensuring accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation between students, educators, and peers Adapting interpretation methods to meet the unique needs of each student's learning environment Participating in meetings and professional development as needed Supporting the educational team in fostering an inclusive and accessible space for all students
