Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) - Full-time On-site position

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) - Charleston, SC Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) in Charleston, SC for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time, on-site school-based contract opportunity open to travel professionals willing to relocate for the duration of the school year. Multiple positions are available.

Responsibilities:

Provide American Sign Language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers in K-12 educational settings Support student access to classroom instruction, academic activities, and school-related events Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and special education teams Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate interpreting documentation Adapt interpreting style and delivery based on student communication needs

Requirements:

EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required Passing written exam score required Prior school-based interpreting experience preferred Ability to work full-time on-site Monday through Friday Willingness to travel and commit to the full school year assignment
