Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Experience an impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year. This full-time, on-site role will allow you to collaborate with a dedicated educational team and make a meaningful difference for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Responsibilities include facilitating clear communication between students, staff, and teachers through American Sign Language (ASL), interpreting classroom instruction, school activities, and events. The assignment will begin mid-August 2026 and extend through late May 2027, with Monday through Friday hours. Details regarding your assigned schools and specific caseload will be shared prior to your start date.
What We're Looking For:
Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI), meeting EIPA minimum score of 3.5 or higher Passing score on a written interpreting exam Previous experience in educational or similar settings is highly valued Strong understanding of Deaf culture and ASL/English interpreting techniques Ability to follow confidentiality protocols and demonstrate professionalism at all times Flexibility and collaboration skills to support varying classroom settings and age groups
