The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate and confidential interpretation services within a hospital setting. This role is vital in providing support to patients, enhancing their experience, and ensuring they receive the necessary care. Responsibilities Interpret conversations between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers in real-time. Translate medical records and documents accurately to ensure clear communication. Assist in the understanding of medical terminology for both patients and staff. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Provide support in social work settings as needed, facilitating communication between clients and social workers. Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes through effective communication. Qualifications Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus (multilingual). Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings. Experience interpreting or translating in a hospital environment is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to interpret complex conversations accurately while remaining neutral. Experience or training in social work is beneficial but not required. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
