We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide part-time support for a 5th-grade student. This on-site, contract assignment invites you to collaborate directly within the classroom, ensuring that communication is accessible and empowering for the student. You'll work closely with dedicated staff members and become an integral part of the educational environment, helping foster an inclusive atmosphere where every student has the chance to thrive.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Completion of a recognized Sign Language Interpreter program or equivalent certification Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working in K-12 school settings, ideally with elementary-aged students Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families Professionalism, flexibility, and a student-centered mindset
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide direct sign language interpretation for a 5th-grade student within the classroom setting Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and educators during lessons and group activities Support the student's access to curriculum content and classroom discussions Collaborate with teachers and staff to discuss ongoing progress and ensure optimal learning support Maintain confidentiality and adhere to best practices for educational interpreters This position offers the chance to make a real impact in a student's education.
