The interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between English-speaking and Arabic-speaking individuals while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, impartiality, and cultural awareness. This is an onsite interpreting position . The role does not include administrative, dispatch, or office support responsibilities. Language Requirements Professional or native-level fluency in Arabic and English Ability to accurately interpret spoken communication between Arabic and English Strong listening, comprehension, and communication skills Responsibilities Provide professional onsite Arabic-English interpreting services Accurately interpret conversations while maintaining the meaning, tone, and intent of the speaker Interpret consecutively and/or using other appropriate interpreting techniques based on the assignment Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information encountered during assignments Remain impartial and professional at all times Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for all parties Ask for clarification when necessary to ensure accurate communication Arrive on time and fully prepared for scheduled assignments Follow Prisma International Corporation's interpreter policies, procedures, and professional standards Communicate professionally with clients and all parties involved in the assignment Complete required assignment documentation accurately and promptly Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Professional fluency in Arabic and English Prior interpreting experience preferred Strong verbal communication and listening skills Ability to interpret accurately and completely without adding, omitting, or altering information Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics Reliable transportation to onsite assignments in the Austin, Texas area Ability to arrive on time and meet scheduled assignment commitments Professional appearance and conduct Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in medical, legal, community, or other professional settings Preferred Qualifications Candidates with any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply: 40-Hour Bridging the Gap (BTG®) Training 40-Hour The Medical Interpreter (TMI®) Training 40-Hour The Community Interpreter International (TCII®) Training CHI or CMI Certification State or Federal Court Interpreter Certification Prior medical interpreting experience Prior legal or court interpreting experience Experience providing community interpreting services Associate or Bachelor's Degree Desired Skills & Behaviors Excellent listening and communication skills Professional and dependable Detail-oriented and accurate Respectful and culturally aware Patient and adaptable Able to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations Strong ethical judgment Committed to confidentiality and impartiality Reliable and punctual Independent Contractor Position This is an independent contractor opportunity .
