Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students and staff in a school environment near Paris, TX. This contract position calls for a dedicated professional adept at fostering inclusion and clear communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. You'll be joining a collaborative educational team and will play a pivotal role in bridging language gaps, enhancing learning experiences, and empowering students daily.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with current SLI credentials Prior experience interpreting in schools or educational settings preferred Ability to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers Flexibility and adaptability to address diverse classroom needs Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) during classroom instruction, events, and meetings Ensure accurate and confidential conveyance of all educational content Adapt interpreting approaches to meet the student(s)' unique needs and settings Collaborate with educators and support staff to support academic and social inclusion Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
