This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for skilled interpreters passionate about making a difference in educational settings. Engage directly by working 1:1, primarily with elementary students, ensuring they have equal access to classroom learning and activities. Flexibility is key, as interpreters will sometimes lend coverage at different locations if their assigned student is absent. Qualifications & Desired Experience Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter within school settings Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III required Preference for candidates with an EIPA Score of 3.5 or above; those with a score above 3.0 will be considered Alternatively, possession of a QAS Score of 3 or better Familiarity with Visaphonics preferred (not required) Ability to adapt to changing needs and locations across multiple sites as assigned Role Responsibilities Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation for 1:1 assignment, mainly supporting elementary-aged students Facilitate effective communication to ensure student participation in classroom instruction and school activities Collaborate with educators and staff to meet each student's individual communication goals Provide coverage and support throughout different school locations as needed Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school/district guidelines What You'll Enjoy Full-time, consistent schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday through the academic year Opportunity to make a lasting impact in students' educational journeys Work in a supportive and inclusive environment Embark on a rewarding contract role where your skills empower students and support inclusive learning.
