Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated PRN Spanish Communications Support professional to join our healthcare team, providing vital language and interpretation services in both telehealth and on-site settings. Responsibilities Provide professional interpretation services in Spanish across various healthcare settings, including telehealth consultations and on-site patient interactions. Facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients by translating medical terminology accurately and efficiently. Conduct over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI) to support clinical and administrative needs. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations, clinical ethical guidelines, and confidentiality policies during all interpretation activities. Assist with translating medical records, documentation review, and medical translation services to support clinical documentation accuracy. Support cross-cultural communication efforts by applying cultural competency standards and promoting understanding of diverse backgrounds. Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and confidentiality at all times while delivering customer service that fosters trust and respect. Requirements Multilingual proficiency with fluency in both English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus. Proven experience in medical interpretation, translation, or related healthcare communication roles. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical cultural competency standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, and social work practices is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret accurately in high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism. Experience with video remote interpretation (VRI), over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), and medical translation services. Demonstrated understanding of clinical confidentiality policies, child protective services protocols, hospital experience, and medical records documentation.
