Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support effective communication in an educational setting. This contract position is based in Wilmington, VT, and involves providing sign language interpretation services to ensure accessibility and inclusion for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and staff using sign language interpretation. Support classroom activities by interpreting lectures, discussions, and other instructional content. Assist in one-on-one and group settings to promote engagement and understanding. Collaborate with educators and support staff to accommodate students' communication needs. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills. Experience working in educational environments or with school-aged children preferred.
