Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by providing 1:1 sign language interpreting services in an educational setting. This contract opportunity allows you to work closely with a student, supporting their communication needs and access to learning, all while collaborating with dedicated education professionals. The assignment is conveniently located near Auburn, WA, and is designed for an interpreter seeking a rewarding, ongoing placement—this need is anticipated to renew annually.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Current credentials: EIPA 4.0+ or RID certification required Experience supporting students in school environments preferred Demonstrated expertise in interpreting for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals Strong commitment to confidentiality and inclusion Collaborative, proactive communicator Ability to work independently in a dynamic setting
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate, effective sign language interpreting for a single student throughout the school day Facilitate clear, accessible communication between the student, staff, and peers Prepare for classroom content in advance to ensure effective interpreting Collaborate with special education and general education teams to uphold student success Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Respond adaptively to the student's ongoing communication and access needs This contract offers the chance to directly impact a student's educational experience while contributing your professional skills to a supportive school community.
