Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity providing essential support as a Sign Language Interpreter for a high school student during the 2026-2027 school year. This position focuses on directly facilitating communication and inclusion within an educational setting, making a meaningful impact every day.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (or eligibility to meet state requirements) Previous experience interpreting in educational or school environments, especially secondary level, is highly desirable Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to advocating for student success Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, staff, and families Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness in dynamic school settings
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one interpreting services for a high school student across classroom activities, assemblies, and school events Accurately convey spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring clear and effective communication Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other educational team members to support student learning goals Assist with preparation or clarification of educational materials to accommodate the student's needs Support student participation in both academic and extracurricular activities as needed This fulfilling role not only offers the chance to build supportive educational experiences but also allows you to grow professionally alongside dedicated educators and passionate students. The contract runs for the entire 2026-2027 academic year.
