Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based environment as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students' access to education every day. This contract opportunity is a 1:1 position, allowing you to make a direct and lasting impact in the academic and social journey of a student. Key Qualifications:
Valid 4.0 EIPA or current RID certification required Demonstrated experience as a school-based or educational Sign Language Interpreter Ability to facilitate clear, effective communication between students, staff, and peers Proficient in both receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL) Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 interpreting services to a student in classroom and school activities Accurately convey spoken information using ASL and voice interpreting in academic settings Collaborate with teachers, staff, and special education teams to foster student success Adapt communication style to meet individual student needs and educational goals Support student participation, understanding, and engagement in all school environments The contract for this position is structured to renew each academic year, offering both continuity for the student and stability for you as a valued interpreter.
