Vacancy Notice Educational Sign Language Interpreter Posting Date:

Deadline:
Until position is filled The School District of Niagara is seeking a qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreter to support a deaf or hard of hearing student in a variety of educational settings. This position plays an important role in facilitating clear and effective communication between the student, peers, and school staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide one-on-one interpreting support for a student in the classroom and school environment Interpret and/or transliterate classroom instruction, discussions, and multimedia materials Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff Adapt communication methods to meet the individual needs of the student Collaborate with classroom teachers and teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Serve as a liaison to support positive relationships between the student and others Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development Maintain professional standards in accordance with the
RID Code of Ethics Qualifications:
Associate's Degree Valid Wisconsin DPI #884 Educational Interpreter license Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and support student needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with students in an educational setting Ability to provide oral interpreting
Position Details:
Full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year Potential opportunity for shadowing prior to the start of the school year Salary is negotiable based on experience
Start Date:
August 2026, in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year
