Position Overview:

Work is focused on the routine maintenance of traffic signals and streetlights but does include all phases of installation, maintenance, and repair. We have several contracts with various municipalities in San Diego County, plus CalTrans. A person in this position may lead all phases of traffic signal or street lighting installation, including poles, conduit, wiring, paving, concrete, and sidewalk finishing. This journeyman position is limited to those holding a valid General or Non-Residential Lighting Technician Certificate with the State of California plus IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II or III .

Position Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair traffic signal and streetlight equipment as reported by customers, to include mandatory on-call duties for off hours Perform routine inspections and maintenance, as required per contract Mark out for DigAlert tickets as received by customers Lead a crew to install or replace all components necessary to return a traffic signal or streetlight to a fully operable condition Maintain situational awareness at work sites and take appropriate actions to ensure a safe work area Able to work well within the team and demonstrate an eagerness to learn additional skills Mentor junior technicians and support their path to certification Cooperate with and effectively communicate amongst the Southwest Signal team. Provide accurate, clear, and concise reporting on all work performed on a daily basis

Position Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old Valid Driver's License; DMV report must accompany application Pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical No fear of heights as aerial equipment is used routinely Ability to lift 80lbs for a distance greater than 20ft Current General or Non-Residential Lighting Technician Certificate IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II or III Distinguishing (Bonus)

Experience operating a Hi-Flow Bobcat or similar with

$29.70 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
