Productions, Inc. is seeking a practical, hands-on camera technician for occasional fashion catalog photography, product shoots, runway presentations, and related video production in San Diego. This is a short-term, project-based position for someone who can set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot photography and video equipment. We need reliable technical support—not a full-service photography company, creative agency, art director, or high-priced commercial photography package. Responsibilities Set up cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, flashes, triggers, stands, cables, and related equipment Confirm that cameras, lighting, computers, memory cards, batteries, and backups are functioning before each shoot Monitor focus, exposure, lighting, framing, file capture, and equipment performance Assist with still catalog photography and runway or behind-the-scenes video Transfer, organize, label, verify, and back up image and video files Connect cameras to computers or monitors when tethered shooting is required Identify and resolve basic camera, lighting, connection, software, or file problems Help maintain an efficient shooting workflow Remain on standby throughout the shoot to handle technical problems immediately Carefully handle company and rented equipment Maintain confidentiality regarding unreleased products, designs, images, and business information Qualifications Practical experience operating digital cameras and related production equipment Working knowledge of camera settings, lenses, focus, exposure, lighting, and flash Familiarity with video capture, audio, memory cards, batteries, cables, and file formats Ability to transfer, organize, verify, and back up large image and video files Comfortable troubleshooting cameras, computers, lighting equipment, and connections Dependable, punctual, organized, calm, and attentive during live production Able to follow the photographer's or production director's instructions Available for in-person projects in San Diego Catalog, studio, runway, event, product, or e-commerce production experience is helpful Owning professional equipment is helpful but not necessarily required.
