Job Description

SCHEDULE
: Nights, weekends and holidays. Hours vary.
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Performs intermediate paraprofessional work. Assists with the daily and technical operations of the Willow Theatre. Performs both technical and clerical related work. Works flexible hours and has versatile responsibilities. Work is performed under supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Designs lighting plots and operates light and sound equipment for various theatre productions; Operates projection and rigging equipment; Stores and maintains theatre equipment; Inventories user group's equipment; Enforces Sugar Sand Park and City of Boca Raton codes and policies; Checks the theatre prior to each performance to determine the safety and adequacy of maintenance; Assists with setting, hanging and focusing lights for theatre productions; Prepares theatre and equipment the day of production; Cleans and secures theatre after use.
RELATED TASKS
Assists with load-in and strike of productions; Assists with box office, front desk, and front of house operations; Assists with hosting theatre programs; Handles pre and post-production inspections of all technical equipment; Helps maintain theatre storage and inventory; Maintains files and collects fees; Assists with special events; Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of technical theatre including ETC light board programming, dimmer systems and sound system operation and management; general knowledge of theatre operations including set load-ins, strikes and box office; skill in the operation of standard office equipment, computer equipment , and software, including Microsoft applications; ability to maintain order in a public facility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, associates and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in technical theatre or related field. Thorough knowledge of technical theatre including ETC light board programming, dimmer systems and sound system operation and management; general knowledge of theatre operations including set load-ins, strikes, and box office; skill in the operation of standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including Microsoft applications.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid State of Florida driver's license with no more than 6 points in the past 3 years.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift and carry articles weighing up to 50 lbs., and push articles weighing up to 300 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures, insects, noise, dust, heights, dark and confined spaces; ability to stand and walk for up to six hours at a time.
