Job Description
Position Summary Signature Landscape Contractors is seeking an experienced Irrigation & Lighting Technician to join our award-winning team serving high-end residential clients. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of irrigation and low-voltage landscape lighting systems. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong diagnostic skills, expertise in locating irrigation valves and wiring, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Primary Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain irrigation and low-voltage landscape lighting systems. Certifies Backflow Prevention Devices in compliance with local water authorities Expertly locate buried irrigation valves, valve boxes, wiring faults, and other underground system components. Install, repair, and replace sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, sensors, wiring, transformers, and lighting fixtures. Program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers, including smart irrigation technologies. Perform irrigation audits and system inspections to identify and resolve performance issues. Communicate professionally with clients and provide effective solutions to irrigation and lighting concerns. Accurately complete work orders, service reports, time tracking, and material usage documentation. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner. Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of irrigation/low voltage lighting troubleshooting and repair experience. Demonstrated expertise locating irrigation valves, wire paths, and underground system components. Experience installing and servicing low-voltage landscape lighting systems. Strong understanding of irrigation controllers, valves, hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics. Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong customer service skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage service calls. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Backflow Prevention Certification preferred.
