Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and design-savvy Lighting Sales Consultant to join our showroom team. In this role, you'll provide exceptional service to customers by helping them choose the right fixtures and finishes for their home or project as well as appropriate lighting controls. You'll work in a collaborative, supportive environment where your creativity and attention to detail can shine. Our Showroom Consultants create an exceptional buying experience for our customers through their expertise and passion for service. They are versatile team players who work cohesively with homeowners, trade professionals and other employees. Our Showroom Consultants understand the challenges of building and remodeling, and they are dedicated to helping things go right. Responsibilities:
Welcome and assist customers with their lighting needs. Listen to client needs and offer personalized product recommendations. Educate customers on product features, finishes, design treads, and fuctionality. Conduct product demonstrations and explain features related to lighting design, layout options, and renovation solutions. Prepare accurate quotes and process customers orders. Continually strive to learn new products and technical knowledge, and keep up with changing trends. Building lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service before, during, and after the sale. Maintain the appearance and functionality of the showroom displays and sample areas. Maintain cleanliness of the lighting fixtures and order of the showroom floor. Perform other tasks when asked.Qualifications:

You will be required to work with project budgets and sales pricing structures. You will actively guide and keep track of multiple projects at once.Great Communication Skills:
You will collaborate with contractors, designers and homeowners, along with manufacturer representatives and other Grand Rapids Lighting departments. Must be comfortable with making phone calls, writing emails and communicating in-person.Team Player:
You will work positively and productively with other employees to make sure our customers get the best service possible. This includes, but not limited to, maintaining a clean and organized showroom environment, answering phones, and assisting walk-in showroom customers. Commitment toLearning:
You will work to become a product expert through ongoing training via multiple channels. You will learn about lighting fundamentals (Layers of Light, LED color temperatures & Lumens) and other products. While some of the learning will happen during group sessions & one-on one with factory reps, much of it is self-paced. You will need to stay on top of industry trends and work on sales skills.Computer Proficiency:
You will work with our industry-specific software (training provided) and some Microsoft Office programs. Basic computer skills that should be included: email, internet searches, as well as to learn our ordering system. Be on your feet most of the day. Be able to lift 10-50 lb boxes when needed. At least 1 year of retail sales experience. Lighting knowledge preferredSalary:
GRLC is non-commission Starting pay is $16 or based on experience. There are quarterly vendor SPIFF programs where bonus money can be earned.Benefits:
