JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A
to Z Theatrical Supply and Service, Inc. has been in continuous operation for over 50 years. As a service and supply company for the theatrical and events world, we handle a diverse client base and provide assistance with retail purchases, lighting audio and video system rentals or upgrades, custom costume construction and rentals, theatrical drapery construction and installation, theatrical rigging system inspections, repairs, and replacements, and are involved in the renovation and construction of theatrical spaces, primarily in schools and religious institutions. From A to Z, we do it all. While the Theatrical Rigging Specialist (aka Production Specialist) may not be the most technically knowledgeable individual on site, they are ultimately responsible for the job and its outcome. They are responsible for using hand and power tools in the fabrication, set-up, and repair of rigging and supporting structures, per the job specifications and change orders. The Production Specialist must understand the scope of the project, the BOM, and the Pull & Tag. They work with the salesperson's plan and communicate the need for both company owned and sub-rented equipment such as tools, vehicles, ladders, lifts, etc. They communicate all needs to the logistics department using established procedures. The Production Specialist is responsible for the pull, prep, load, and delivery, as well as the return of, all gear, supplies, tools, and equipment. Production Specialists serve as the onsite point of contact for the office and must follow all internal departmental processes, including reporting the job status daily and as changes occur, including sending pictures. The Production Specialist must work with and direct the activities of other AtoZ employees and contractors to ensure the safety of all workers and materials while bringing the job to completion on-time and meeting Sales' expectations. They may need to use existing tools and materials in new ways in order to solve problems. The Production Specialist is responsible for maintaining site safety for all personnel. The Production Specialist is expected to execute the job but may also coordinate, motivate, develop, and direct the activities of other people as they work. This position is required to record hours accurately using the company timeclock system. Must be able to work safely at heights. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to safely run, maneuver, navigate, and drive vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts, personnel lifts, passenger vehicles, or box trucks. Strong knowledge of event production, custom commercial fabrication, or theatrical technical direction. Expertise with theatrical rigging Knowledge of theatrical lighting and sound equipment installation ETCP Certification preferred. OSHA10 Construction required. Applicants without OSHA10 must acquire it within the first 90 days of employment. A to Z will cover the cost of the training, but not the time spent to complete it. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the job summary above. Valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. A steady energy level and a calm demeanor Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Able to operate hand and power tools. Ability to lift at least 75 lbs without assistance. Able to frequently climb and descend stairs and ladders. Able to work safely at heights. Able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires employees to work in a wide variety of work environments including in extreme heat and cold, in unfinished buildings that are active construction sites with multiple hazards and may lack heating/cooling and/or running water. Loud noises, both sustained and sudden, are common.
MATERIALS

STANDARD HOURS/WEEK
40 (approximate), typically Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 but the schedule is dictated by the needs of the project and may include various shifts, long days, and weekends. There is a rotating on-call weekend schedule.
