Position Summary :
The Auditorium Manager serves as the technical and operational backbone of the district's performance spaces. This role ensures that every student performance, community event, and professional rental runs with technical precision and safety. You aren't just managing a room; you are managing the stage where student confidence is built.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Theater, Arts Administration, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years in theater management or live event production, preferably in an educational or multi-venue setting. Experience operating and training others on professional sound and lighting boards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Auditorium Manager will be responsible for a variety of technical and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
Facility Management:
Scheduling and managing the daily use of the Auditorium.
Technical Oversight:
Recruiting, training, and managing high school auditorium technicians and district staff on the operation of sound boards, lighting, and other auditorium functions. Oversee all aspects of lighting, sound, rigging, and stagecraft. Ensure that audio-visual systems are maintained at a professional standard.
Maintenance & Safety:
Creating and managing general auditorium upkeep and building safety, including conducting safety checks and arranging regular piano tunings and maintenance. Act as the primary safety officer for the backstage environment. Ensure all rigging inspections are current and that students/staff follow OSHA and fire code protocols. Maintain a clean working space for those who use the facility.
Event Support:
Serve as the "Front of House" or technical lead during evening and weekend performances, ensuring the facility is secured before and after use. Working occasional auditorium evening events as needed.
Inventory & Budgeting:
Tracking auditorium inventory. Budgeting for, troubleshooting, and repairing technical sound and light items. Other duties may be assigned.
Pay:
$48,100.00 per year
