Job Description

Programmable Lighting Technician / Installer $175-$250 per day | Full-Time | Winston-Salem / Greensboro / High Point Area Join the Carolina's Leader in Permanent Outdoor Lighting We are the Carolina's leading permanent architectural and programmable lighting company, serving homeowners, businesses, neighborhoods, and commercial properties throughout the Carolina's and Southern Virginia. We specialize in professionally installed, permanent exterior lighting systems for homes, businesses, HOA entrances, docks, decks, patios, and other outdoor spaces. Our company is growing quickly, and we're looking for dependable, hardworking people who take pride in what they build. This is not a seasonal holiday-lighting job. This is a full-time skilled installation position with strong earning potential and opportunities to advance as our company continues to grow. If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable working with your hands, and like seeing the results of your work at the end of every day, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do As a Programmable Lighting Technician, you'll work with a team to professionally install permanent exterior lighting systems on residential and commercial properties.
Your responsibilities will include:
Measuring and installing custom, cut-to-fit aluminum lighting channel Installing lighting along rooflines, soffits, decks, docks, patios, and commercial structures Splicing and running low-voltage wiring Installing and wiring power supplies and system components Using ladders, lifts, and other installation equipment Testing completed systems and ensuring a clean, professional installation Interacting professionally with customers and representing our company well Maintaining a clean and organized job site Much of this work is performed at heights and on ladders. The typical working height is approximately 8-32 feet, with some installations requiring work at 40 feet.
Compensation & Advancement Training:
$18/hour during your initial training period, typically 1-2 weeks depending on how quickly you learn the installation process and demonstrate proficiency. Once training is completed, technicians move to our performance-based daily pay system: Level 1: $175/dayLevel 2: $200/day 3: $225/day 4: $250/day Levels 3 & 4 also include paid time off. Advancement through the pay levels is based on your ability to demonstrate: Installation proficiency Efficiency Quality workmanship Reliability Customer service Teamwork Strong performers can advance quickly. We believe great work should be rewarded. Additional leadership and advancement opportunities are available as the company grows, and we strongly prefer to promote from within. A Different Kind of Pay Structure Once training is complete, you're paid based on the work assigned for the day—not simply by how long you can stay on the clock. Many installations can be completed in less than a full workday, and your daily pay remains the same even when your team finishes early. That means becoming better and more efficient at your job can give you something valuable: higher earning potential without necessarily working longer hours.
Schedule Full-Time:
Approximately 30-45 hours per week Typical schedule: Monday-Friday. Weekend work may also be available for those who want additional opportunities. Service Area For this role, our primary service area includes: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Lexington, Statesville, Hickory, Mooresville and surrounding areas. Occasional travel outside our normal service area may be required (specifically to Roanoke, Lynchburg and surrounding areas). What We're Looking For You don't need years of lighting experience—we can teach you our system. However, the strongest candidates will have experience working with their hands in fields such as: Carpentry Electrical Roofing Gutters or siding Construction Handyman work Low-voltage installation Other skilled trades You should also be: Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and lifts Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality Mechanically inclined and able to learn new skills Dependable and punctual Able to maintain a clean and professional appearance Comfortable interacting with homeowners and customers A strong team player Able to take direction and communicate well In possession of a valid driver's license You'll Probably Love This Job If… You like working outside instead of sitting behind a desk. You enjoy building things and seeing a finished product at the end of the day. You naturally work with a sense of urgency but don't cut corners. You like the idea of becoming more valuable—and earning more—as your skills improve. You're comfortable with heights.
