Job Description
Theatre Technician East High School Lincoln East High School is seeking a skilled and motivated Theatre Technician to oversee the school's performing arts venues and support the student technical crew for all theatrical productions. This position is responsible for the design, creation, and execution of all technical elements of productions, including scenery (construction and painting), properties, stage lighting, sound, and costume design. The Theatre Technician will also provide instruction and mentorship in stagecraft, technical theatre practices, and production composition to students enrolled in theatre classes and the after-school drama program. In addition, the Theatre Technician will provide technical theatre and audiovisual support for district, public, and private events held in the East High Auditorium, such as concerts, staff meetings, and dance recitals. Responsibilities also include coordinating scheduling and use of theatre spaces and maintaining all performance and support areas, including the auditorium, black box theatre, scene shop, dressing rooms, tools, equipment, and the overhead stage rigging system. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional-level knowledge of technical theatre, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. This role requires close collaboration with production teams, strict adherence to safety protocols for staff and students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community patrons. A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or equivalent experience in technical theatre is preferred. This position is subject to a veterans preference. 191 Calendar 32.60
