Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Installation & Service Technician to join our team and drive excellence in installing, maintaining, and repairing scoreboards, video displays, and sound systems across schools, athletic facilities, and commercial venues. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Daktronics equipment including LED scoreboards, shot clocks, player/penalty panels, All Sport control consoles, and full sound systems. As a technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring every facility we touch is left better than we found it. Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency service calls on scoreboards, video displays, shot clocks, and sound systems at schools and athletic facilities. Troubleshoot equipment issues using Daktronics schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools, including wireless communication systems, control consoles, and horn/sound components. Conduct full installations of LED scoreboards (All Daktronics products including models MS-2009, MS-2012, FB-2018, etc.), backlit panels, video displays, and supporting control systems using approved mounting hardware (sleeve anchors, clip angles, I-beams). Calibrate and commission all electronic systems, including configuring control consoles, syncing shot clocks, and testing wireless communication. Perform Gen 6 upgrades, horn replacements, and component swaps — either on-site or via bench repairs. Travel to client sites in a clean, organized work van with all necessary tools and equipment pre-packed for the day's scope of work. Document every job with pre-service and post-service photos on the invoice sheet. If sound is involved, record pre-service and post-service video to verify audio quality. Conduct site walkthroughs ("scouts") 1-2 days prior to installation to identify power sources, ceiling obstacles, and staging requirements. Provide onsite training to facility personnel on operating their new equipment. Maintain a clean workspace at all times, clean as you go, no debris left behind, tools wiped down and returned to their proper place. End every day with a van reset: remove trash, restock hardware, and ensure the warehouse is clean and organized. Skills Hands-on experience installing and servicing Daktronics scoreboards, shot clocks, and control consoles preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using lifts, scissor lifts, and rigging equipment safely. Ability to read schematics, electrical blueprints, and "as-built" drawings for power and steel installation. Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems, 20 amp circuits, and basic electrical diagnostics using ammeters and ohmmeters. Experience with mounting hardware installation including 1/2" x 2 1/2" sleeve anchors, clip angles, and structural I-beam attachments. Proficiency with handheld diagnostic tools and wireless communication setup for scoring systems. Clean driving record and ability to operate up to a 40' flatbed or smaller delivery truck as needed. Excellent customer service skills, you are the face of Ligym on-site, and a professional, courteous presence is non-negotiable. Strong documentation habits, every job gets photographed, every invoice gets filled out completely, every customer signs off on the work. Background in athletic facility maintenance, AV installation, or industrial electrical work is a plus. This position offers an engaging environment where your technical expertise directly impacts the game-day experience for athletes, coaches, and fans across hundreds of facilities. We're targeting 3 installations per week, 12 per month, and we need someone who takes pride in the details.
