Brenda Athletic Clubs•Turlock Sport (201 Tampa Street, Turlock, CA 95382) and Modesto Sport (200 Norwegian Avenue, Modesto, CA 95350)
Management Scope:
As the Director of Racquet Sports, you are responsible for the overall operation of the racquets facility that includes Tennis, Pickleball, Padel, and Racquetball operations. Working within the framework of Brenda Athletic Clubs, the Director will run an operation that aligns with the goals and vision of the club and services its members and their guests as well as club employees. This includes the maintenance and improvement of the club's services and the security and protection of the club's assets. This role is an Operator LLC supporting Modesto Sport and Turlock Sport Brenda Athletic Clubs' facilities. •Total compensation based on percentages of revenue, bonus incentives, and Operator LLC management fee.
Expectations and Essential Duties:
Must have a strong and experienced teaching background in both tennis and pickleball for players from social beginner level up to advanced and competitive levels. Teach between 20-25 hours per week with appropriate and focused attention given to all sides of the racquets program in tennis, pickleball, and padel. More than 50% of your work schedule will be of a supervisory and administrative nature. A strong administrative skillset is required within operations and racquet sports management. Actively engage with the racquets community. Additionally, participate with the community not involved in programming. Support club membership sales effort and actively participate in prospect experience and soliciting leads. Play an active role in growing the membership for the club and providing 1st-class programming, play, and special events to maintain the members. Develop a detailed annual calendar of tennis, pickleball, and padel activities and coordinate with Corporate Marketing for applicable promotion campaigns. Create and work with Corporate Marketing to execute marketing plans that drive player development and programming that meet or exceed budget projections. Supervise all court play, proper reporting, and charging of fees. Initiate, direct, and promote tennis, padel, and pickleball clinics, special events, and programs to attract and maintain members' interests. Provide beginner through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels and ages of players. Create a regular schedule of hours that you are on-site. When not on-site, be available on call to deal with emergencies or appoint someone else at each club location or corporate to be the point person. Ensure proper inspection of the courts/facilities daily, prior to the start of play, and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Report any maintenance problems to the appropriate person. Monitor court usage including special events, clinics, and lessons. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manage staff members that may include but is not limited to: Instructors, pro shop staff, court maintenance staff. Assure that effective orientation and training are given to each new staff member. Implement company training programs. Manage the pro shops. Responsible for understanding the facility POS system. Implement the inventory control system policy and report results as required. Ensure revenue is properly recorded into POS system and reconciled daily to schedule. Strong knowledge of sports merchandise is needed to properly give information to consumers. Develop budgets within the goals set by Corporate Operations. Provide monthly reports as required by Corporate Operations. Maintain accurate membership database. Coordinate with Corporate Marketing for creation and promotion of all materials. Enforce all club and corporate policies and procedures. Maintain a close working relationship with the Facility General Manager/Owner and non-court facility staff. Attend facility management meetings and report to the General Manager and any other appointed Board members designated by the club. Regular and reliable attendance. Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
Education/Experience:
At least a high school education or GED.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the staff may use are in English). Minimum requirement level of a 4.5 on both pickleball and tennis ratings.
Reports to:
Club General Manager for all club operations and job functions. This scope is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all functions this position may be asked to perform from time to time.

$75,000.00•$100,000.00 per year
