The Role Scientific American, a division of LabX Media Group, and one of the world's most prestigious science and innovation brands, seeks a Director, Integrated Media, to lead the development and execution of revenue-generating publishing programs in multiple formats (print, online, custom content, live events), for a variety of US and international sponsors and partners. This sales position reports to the VP & Publisher and serves a critical function in the management of several key new business initiatives. An exciting role within a growing area, the Director, Integrated Media will be involved in all phases of business development, including the solutions-based approach to media sales, through program consultation and execution. There will be an emphasis on conceiving and selling new sponsorship programs and finding opportunities in an evolving media landscape. The role requires travel to specific territories as needed. Some international territories will be covered by this role. What You'll Do Research, prospect and establish leads for media sales and sponsorship opportunities as well as new content-driven projects. Develop a growing network of partnership leads to leverage for commercial success Generate commercial sales and new sales opportunities within all of the categories of business Scientific American operates (print, digital, content programs, sponsorships, events, and others) Serve as lead account director for integrated programs and act as the key liaison to the client, working with an in-house and freelance team Work with all project management and production teams to ensure the delivery of program obligations; work with clients to grow relationships and to renew business What You'll Bring The successful candidate will have a bachelors' degree 6-8 years of relevant publishing/media management experience with a focus on sales, sponsorship development, content programs, client relationship-building, proposal crafting, budgeting, and strategy development, or relevant experience in these areas. An interest in science, health, technology and innovation Impeccable writing and communication skills; ability to create a "solutions-based" approach to client cultivations Demonstrated success in achieving revenue goals and strategic business development A growing network of contacts in the pharma/tech/innovation space both on the client and agency side Why Join Us You'll help shape new partnerships/relationships and business direction for one of the world's most trusted science media brands.
