26-27 Director of Talent Libertas Academy Mission Through rigorous academics, character development, and strong supports for every learner, Libertas Academy Charter School prepares all sixth through twelfth grade students to succeed within the college of their choice and to be positive, engaged members of their communities. Job Overview:
The Director of Talent reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as a key member of the organization's senior leadership team. This is far more than a traditional recruiting role—it is a strategic leadership position responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive talent strategy that attracts, develops, and retains exceptional people. The Director of Talent builds the systems, processes, and culture that enable organizational excellence, ensuring the right talent is in the right roles to advance the mission. Success in this role requires strategic vision, exceptional judgment, operational rigor, and the ability to translate workforce planning into measurable organizational impact. Key Role Benchmarks 100% of open roles are posted on key sites (LinkedIn, Indeed, Schoolspring, local job boards) All resumes are screened within 48 hours of submission Round 1 submissions are reviewed within 48 hours of completion 100% staffed by the first day of school Duties and Responsibilities Essential Responsibilities of the Director of Talent Include but Are Not Limited to:
Talent Recruitment:
Initiate a year-round, full-cycle recruitment for school-based roles focused specifically on teachers. This includes executing referral campaigns, sourcing prospective candidates, and managing relationships with key partner organizations (Teach For America, Teach Western Mass, local universities, etc) Lead cultivation efforts in Western Massachusetts by building authentic relationships with connectors, prospective leaders, and school-based support staff in an effort to continually diversify and strengthen our applicant pool to ensure that Libertas schools have high quality educators. Develop relationships with prospective talent that yield lasting results; serve as a compelling ambassador of Libertas Academy in a variety of settings, from 1:1 conversations with prospects to attending relative career fairs. Spearhead opportunities for prospective talent to become familiar with Libertas Academy's mission, values, approach, and people. Monitor the progress of prospective candidates through the recruitment process, including ensuring timely communications, and managing cultivation and selection data. Use data to drive actions and inform recruitment and hiring decisions. Conduct initial screens with prospective candidates in a friendly, efficient, equitable, and rigorous manner that leads to a positive and efficient candidate experience. Partner directly with school leaders to curate a candidate pipeline, and a leader pipeline. Coordinate logistics for candidate interview days alongside school leaders including travel, accommodations, guest lesson logistics
Retention of Talent:
Directly work with school leaders on the teacher retention process. Work with school leaders to proactively identify teacher vacancies that will inform the year's recruitment approach. Work with the Executive Director and School Leaders to facilitate the organizational health process, and create a teacher evaluation process that will incentivize strong teachers remaining in the classroom. Develop relationships with current teachers to be able to assist school leaders with retention efforts. Serve as an active member of the network's leadership team Participate in regular leadership team meetings. Lead certain training sessions at the start and end of school year and on professional development days. Model Libertas Academy's professional and values at all times; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the school community. Do whatever it takes to ensure that the mission of the school is fulfilled Qualifications;
Desired Skills, and Characteristics:
Bachelor's Degree required 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting operations, or talent operations, with demonstrated ownership of full-cycle recruiting for full-time roles; preferably in an educational setting Experience working in an underserved community. Experience working with a diverse staff Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence, initiative, and leadership skills. Flexibility, with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate a high level of responsibility and multiple priorities. Results oriented team player who is dedicated to getting the job done. Proficiency and comfort with Zoom, Google sheets, Excel, LinkedIn and various applicant tracking systems.
