Job Description

Job Summary Canvas Church is seeking a part-time Worship & Production Director to provide leadership for Sunday worship, service production, and digital worship engagement. This role helps create worship gatherings that are thoughtful, welcoming, spiritually meaningful, and free from unnecessary distraction. The Worship & Production Director will work closely with the pastors to plan worship services, lead and develop volunteers, oversee production systems, support livestream quality, and help share weekly teaching through sermon clips and other digital content. Canvas Church exists to invite everyone into the family of God , and we are looking for someone who can help shape worship experiences that reflect that mission with creativity, humility, excellence, and care. About the Role The Worship & Production Director will lead in five primary areas: 1. Worship Leading & Planning This person will plan and lead Sunday worship in alignment with sermon themes, the liturgical season, and the values of Canvas Church. This includes selecting songs, building worship sets, preparing Planning Center details, creating chord charts and arrangements, and collaborating with pastors on worship flow, communion, prayer, special music, and other creative service elements. The Worship & Production Director will regularly lead worship on Sunday mornings while also developing additional worship leaders over time. 2. Worship Team Development This role includes recruiting, training, scheduling, equipping, and caring for musicians and vocalists. The Worship & Production Director will lead weekly rehearsals that are prepared, encouraging, and musically effective, while cultivating a worship culture marked by humility, collaboration, excellence, and spiritual attentiveness. 3. Production & Technology Oversight The Worship & Production Director will lead and support the Sunday morning production team, including sound, video, lighting, ProPresenter, and livestream volunteers. This includes overseeing Sunday morning setup, soundcheck, service run-through, troubleshooting, and production details. The goal is to help Sunday services feel smooth, clear, reliable, and distraction-free. 4. Livestream, Teaching Capture & Digital Content This role will oversee the weekly livestream experience and ensure that Sunday teaching is captured clearly through video and audio. The Worship & Production Director will also coordinate the editing, posting, and archiving of sermons as needed, along with creating sermon clips and short-form content for social media. This part of the role helps extend the reach of Sunday teaching beyond the room in ways that are thoughtful, invitational, and missionally aligned. 5. Creative Elements & Special Services The Worship & Production Director will collaborate with pastors on creative elements for sermon series, worship environments, and special services, including Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, Vision Sunday, baptisms, and other key gatherings. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have: Experience leading worship in a church or ministry context Working knowledge of worship production technology, including sound, video, livestream, presentation software, and basic media workflows Ability to recruit, train, lead, and care for volunteers Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to plan ahead while remaining flexible in a ministry environment Comfort using tools such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, livestream platforms, basic video editing tools, and social media platforms Theological alignment with Canvas Church's mission, values, and worship culture Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week. The weekly rhythm will include Sunday morning worship leadership, rehearsal, service planning, volunteer communication, production preparation, and digital content responsibilities. Some additional availability will be needed for special services and seasonal gatherings.
