Job Description

The Director of Media & Communications (DMC) utilizes his or her gifts and abilities to support the ministry of West Hills Church through digital communication, media production, and technical support. The DMC serves alongside the Senior Pastor, staff, elders, and volunteers to communicate the mission of the church clearly and effectively both within the congregation and throughout the community. The Director of Media & Communications reports directly to the Senior Pastor. Job Description Primary Responsibilities Media & Communications Oversee the church s website and digital communication platforms. Manage social media content and communication strategies. Coordinate email communications, ministry promotions, and event publicity. Create or oversee graphics, videos, announcements, and promotional materials. Coordinate and oversee videography, video editing, and podcast production Assist ministry leaders in communicating events and ministry opportunities effectively. Special Projects Support communication and media needs for Easter, Christmas, conferences, outreach events, and other special church initiatives. Assist in developing new media resources that further the church s discipleship and outreach efforts. Qualifications Steady and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Demonstrated Christian character and maturity. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Effective communicator with attention to detail. Agreement with West Hills Church s mission, values, and Statement of Faith. Core Competencies Strong organizational and project management skills. Experience with church communications, social media, or media production. Familiarity with Planning Center, Social Media, Graphic Design Software, ProPresenter, livestreaming, and audiovisual systems is preferred. Ability to recruit and lead volunteers. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
