JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and responsibilities associated with the supervision of the Elementary Mathematics, Science, and Gifted & Talented (G&T) Program (PreK-5).
QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY
New Jersey Principal Certificate. Supervisory and/or teaching experience at the elementary level in mathematics and/or science. Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS). Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum and instruction consistent with the NJSLS. Experience analyzing local and state assessment data and developing strategic plans to improve student academic performance. Ability to work collaboratively with building principals and the Director of RTI in designing action plans that support implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and promote increased student achievement. Ability to plan, develop, and deliver professional development programs related to curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices. Ability to develop and manage budgets for assigned disciplines. Strong communication and organizational skills. Student-centered focus. Required criminal history background check.
QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of teaching experience at the elementary level. Ability to recruit, supervise, and evaluate personnel in assigned departments. Knowledge of school improvement and restructuring initiatives. Demonstrated willingness to exercise administrative leadership.
