Job Description
At Jacobs, we're seeking a Commercial Manager based in New York, New York who will assist in the development and implementation of the commercial strategy for the program lifecycle including procurement, commercial and contract management, schedule management, supply chain management, cost verification, assurance, compliance and ultimately commercial close. The Commercial Manager will interface with and support other key functions, for example, Safety and Environmental, Design and Engineering, Project Controls and Delivery. Reporting to the Program Director, the Commercial Manager leads the commercial team responsible for managing change orders, invoicing, contract correspondence, and document control activities across the program. This role works closely with functional leads to ensure commercial processes support project objectives and delivery requirements while serving as the primary commercial liaison with the client and other key stakeholders. The position is responsible for maintaining strong commercial governance, fostering collaborative relationships, and driving performance improvements through the development, monitoring, and ongoing refinement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that optimize vendor performance and contribute to overall project success.
- Substantial commercial leadership experience with large infrastructure programs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Business Management related field
- Experience of contract management tools, reporting and financial systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels within the organizations of the Client, supply chain and other stakeholders
- Strong commercial business acumen
- Strong knowledge of contract management
- Excellent communication, relationship management and presentation skills
- Strong leadership, people and team management skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proven and demonstrable ability in formulating and delivering strategic goals
