Freelance Director Project Overview We are a production company seeking a Director for a comedy-driven, live-action commercial campaign. The project consists of three distinct scripts that will be delivered across CTV and paid social channels. The shoot will take place at a residential location. Creative & Tone The campaign's tone blends deadpan humor with a bright, optimistic visual style. The overarching theme contrasts everyday stressors with a whimsical, playful solution. Visually, the spots will utilize practical, in-camera execution and charming product integration to transition mundane settings into colorful, visually engaging spaces. Director Profile & Experience We are specifically looking for a Director with a strong, proven comedy reel in their portfolio. To successfully align with this project, the ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in: Directing sharp, understated comedic dialogue and expressive physical humor. Coaxing distinct, subtle reactions and strong comedic body language from ensemble cast members. Nailing comedic timing within highly relatable, slightly absurd everyday scenarios. Executing an aesthetic that feels contemporary and color-forward, yet grounded in a lived-in, authentic reality. Role Details & Requirements
Locked Creative:
The creative concept is fully developed, and scripting for all three spots is 100% complete. We are looking for a Director to step in and flawlessly execute this finalized vision.
Compensation:
The role pays a flat rate of $8,000. This fee is fully inclusive of pre-production, one pre-light day, and two days of live-action filming.
Production Schedule:
Pre-light is scheduled for August 5th, with filming taking place on August 6th and 7th.
Crewing:
The Director should be open to utilizing our established crew base. However, we are more than open to hearing about your favorite department heads if you have strong recommendations.
